A user at Metafilter going by the nick "jon_kill" thinks that Maine is crazy Republican. Well, we invite him to come to northern Maine and see how conservative we are. Some PQ mother calls me a Republican to my face, I get all General Wolfe on his ass. With a little Joshua Chamberlain thrown in to give it some Vacationland flava. And SubcomanDeejay Maurice has got my back-- he don't care if you're a Franco blood brother when the shit goes down and the tow chain comes off the skidder!

Pelly's: Opiate of the Masses

Those of you who know me know my stance on alcohol consumption and especially Maine's favorite liver embalmer Pelletier's Maine Liquors. Word on the street is that Pelly's is about to unveil a new line of British-style alcopops. Yeah, Pelletier's is blatantly gunning for the slightly-underage hipster market. I hope it won't sell, but I want to remind everyone who cares to continue to boycott Pelletier's and help it tank.

Don't drink. And if you're going to drink, don't drink Pelly's.

Susie wants to scrap FEMA

Except that she doesn't. She wants to mostly keep it the same and give it a different name. But this time it will be effective, or at least get lots of national press for our state's biggest embarassment. She still wants it under the auspices of the Department of Vaterland Security, and she wants "a director with the rank of deputy secretary within the Department of Homeland Security, chosen for professional rather than political skills." Good luck on keeping the selection process patronage-free. It's almost believable that she's that naive-- everything out of her mouth sounds condescending. Like she thinks everyone listening to her is exceptionally retarded. We're not though, and we can see that she loves publicity. If she were better looking (and a better actor) she would have been in porn-- she definitely gets most of her satisfaction fom having a camera in her face.

A blog that I read reprinted a press release decrying the poor treatment of Slobodan Milosevic. Millions of souls of Dispossessed people crying out around us and this guy is worried about a dead monster?

SubcomanDeejay Maurice and I will have the full, main site up in a week or so-- mostly Maurice 'cause he's the computer guy. It will have a full bio, some activism alerts, some information about things that you need to know about and some rebuttals to criticisms and lies that the Powers That Be have been spreading about me.

We're going to try and get some MP3s on the site, but, as you know, I had to sign to a label to get the Word Out, and the label ain't crazy about me distributing my stuff for free on the Internet. I want people to hear my message, but The Man controls the distribution channels. But we will have music up as soon as we can reach an agreement with Damn!-Riscotta records about how to do it.
